howdy! been a while! in all honesty, this is probably the speed in which i'll be updating this site lol, checkin' in every once in a while to do some blogging.
first off, some updates in the gallery. i put up a couple of pictures of lumiere dusk, one of my favorite of my characters to use in tabletop RPGs. check it ooout.
i've been training in street fighter 5 cuz i'm due for a few matches with my sister. i was a big juri fan in sf4, but not so much in this one. menat is cool, and i wish i was better using her!! i also like sakura, but i always liked sakura lol.
other than that game, i've also been enjoying:
noita - this game is hard! it's a 2d platforming roguelite game that reminds me of [splunkey], but instead it's doused in finnish mythology and you play as a noita (a witch!) delving deep down into the earth. you can collect wands along the way with random spells, and you can even customize your wands, switching their spells around for stronger effects. every pixel in this game is effected by it's physics, so destroying things in it makes me think of the old powder toy i used to play with in middle school hehe.
jupiter hell - this one is more a traditional turn-based rogue-like, reimagining the run-and-gun action of doom in the more strategic rogue style play. apparently it was made by the devs of DoomRL, who decided to make a suped-up legally-distinct version to get Zenimax off their back. it's fantastic, and i feel like it definitely translates the feeling of gunning down demons into the slower gameplay style. doom, but chill.
ufo 50 - this is a compilation of games, 50 in total, and from what i hear, every one is a materclass in game design. i have only play two games so far, because i had decided on a whim that i'm going to play all 50 games in order... my friend darko, who recommended the game to me, told me i was in for a long ride... lol. the first one, barbuta, was a fun 2d exploration game that took me a few hours to get through, but i thought it was good, if a little slow. challenging, but fair. i'm currently struggling through the next game, bug hunter-- it's a puzzle/strategy game about clearing stages of alien bug monsters. they multiply so fast!! i'm sure i'll figure it out lol.
oh, also! i went to the renaissance fair a few sundays ago, it was a blast. i got a new skirt acessory that jingle-jangles, saw a falconry show, and saw amanda kitchens' carnival of sound live. it was a fun show-- they were all great, but the guitarist had such an addicting energy that i loved!
i'll leave you with some great video that xiki took at the fair. live and drink!
